Cleaning Tips
We know that keeping your home or business clean and tidy can be a sometimes daunting task. We’d like to help make your job easier with the following tips and tricks that we’ve accumulated:
General
- Stay on top of things, don’t let messes accumulate, it’s easy to a little bit every day than to leave everything until the end of the week
- Get children involved, start small children off doing small tasks that they can easily accomplish in a short period of time
- Always start at the top and work down with vacuuming and mopping being last.
Kitchens
- A cup of water placed in the microwave for 2 minutes will help loosen caked on dirt and grim and make it easier to clean. Put lemon in it to neutralize smells.
- Pure vegetable oil can be used to keep stainless steel appliances clean and shiny
- When using stainless steel cleaner go with the grain of the steel. Buff in circles
- Put a sheet of tin foil under pans in the oven easy clean up.
- Use burner plates under burners easy clean up.
Baths:
- A cup of bleach in the back and base of the toilet will help get rid of hard water stains
- Keep a squeegee and cleaner in the shower so you can do a 2minute clean and squeegee of water in the shower this will help cut down on build-up
- Keep a toilet bowl brush in EVERY bathroom
- Don’t have black bathrooms or glass sinks, they will always look dirty.
- Keep cleaners under the sink
- Always have a fan
- Hand soap leaves white build-up in the shower try using body wash instead.
Bedrooms
- Less is best in a bedroom keep nick-knacks to a minimum
- Have a hamper in every room. Have one with 2 baskets to separate colours from whites
- Dark furniture always shows the dust 50% more. Keep pets out of rooms and off beds. Less dirt, dust mite and bed bugs this way.
- Have garbage pails in every room. And recycling pails.
- Don’t have food or drinks in bedrooms
